Rain and snow melt had the South Holston colored up over the weekend. Fish were still on the feed but a little hard to come by. The high dirty water had the fish pushed near the banks. Fishing water 2 to 3 feet deep with moderate current produced the best results. We floated the whole river over the weekend and the fish seem to be spreading out a bit. Mid-day is the most comfortable time to fish and seems to be when things get going, but don't let the falling temps push you off the water in the evening. Even though the air temps drop, the water temps are at the warmest heading into the evening. Couple that with BWO and midge activity and you get the most consistent bite of the day.
